BMW has just given the 2025 model year G87 M2 an update. The main updates are on the powertrain, with a few tweaks to the interior, and it features a new operating system.

The 2025 M2 still uses the same S58 3.0L twin-turbo inline-six cylinder engine, now able to produce 480 hp at 6,250 rpm (previously 460 hp). Transmission-wise, a 6-speed manual is still available; however, the manual transmission only has a peak torque of 550 Nm. In contrast, the 8-speed M-Steptronic transmission increases the torque to 600 Nm.

If you can shift fast enough with the 6-speed manual, the 0-100 km/h time is only 4.2 seconds. On the other hand, the 8-speed automatic can shorten the time to just 4 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h, but it can be increased to 285 km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package.

On the interior, the overall design and layout remain the same; however, some physical buttons have been removed and digitized due to the use of the latest iDrive 8.5 operating system.

Moreover, the steering wheel is new as well, featuring a flat-bottom design and a 12 o’clock marker, enhancing the overall racing feel.
