BMW'S 4 series and M4 models have been given extra sporty 2024 updates.

2024 BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive

The BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive gets a host of design updates as well as a boost in its power.

Its new design language includes the adaptive LED headlights with high beam assistant with M Lights Shadowline and M high-gloss Shadowline.

It now runs on staggered 19-inch/20-inch M forged Double-spoke style 826 M Black wheels that are complemented by M Compound brakes in red high-gloss and a sporty carbon fibre roof.

It comes with a unique painted M graphic in Red high-gloss or Black high-gloss. Distinctive laser taillights first featured in the BMW M4 CSL is available as an additional option.

Cabin sees a refreshed three-spoke M leather steering wheel which now features a flattened bottom section and a 12 o’clock marker. M seat belts adorn the M Sport seats, which are equipped with lumbar support, electric seat adjustment with memory function, as well as seat heating for driver and front passenger. 

The centrepiece of the interior is the BMW Curved Display which integrates a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 14.9-inch Control Display, all powered by the advanced BMW Operating System 8.5. 

M interior trim finishers in Carbon Fibre, M headliner anthracite, galvanic embellishers for control, along with central and lateral air vents further elevate the interior.

Also included as standard are the interior and exterior mirror package, interior rear-view mirror with automatic anti-dazzle function, comfort access system, through-loading system and storage compartment package.

At the heart sits the BMW M TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder in-line 3.0-litre petrol engine that's paired to an eight-speed M Steptronic Sport transmission, M sport differential and adaptive M suspension as standard.

Exclusive to the M xDrive system is a power boost of 20 hp that contributes to a total output of 530 hp. Acceleration of 0-100 km/h is now 3.5 seconds, while 0-200 km/h takes only 11.8 seconds. 

Equipped driving assistant systems include Driving Assistant, cruise control with braking function, as well as Parking Assistant Plus as standard. M Drive Professional is included as standard. 

Meanwhile, connectivity comes in the form of BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Connected Drive Services, Connected Package Professional, Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices and BMW Drive Recorder. 

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are present while the on-the-road entertainment further enhanced via the standard inclusion of the Harman Kardon surround sound system which features 16 speakers and a 464W amplifier.

Individualisation options includes a comprehensive range of exclusive M Performance Parts such as the M Performance carbon rear wing, titanium silencer system and handmade carbon rear diffuser.

Exterior colour options includes: Alpine White, Black Sapphire, M Brooklyn Grey metallic and Skyscraper Grey metallicare complemented by M Graphic in Red high-gloss. 

Meanwhile, M Graphic in Black high-gloss is available for the exterior colour options of Alpine White, M Sao Paulo Yellow, M Portimao Blue metallic, M Toronto Red metallic, Isle of Man Green metallic, M Brooklyn Grey metallic, Skyscraper Grey metallic and Aventurine Red metallic.

Upholstery options are Leather 'Merino' in Yas Marina Blue/Black, Leather 'Merino' in Silverstone/Black, Leather 'Merino' in Kyalami Orange/Black andLeather 'Merino' in Black. 

2024 BMW 430i Coupé M Sport Pro

The 430i Coupé M Sport Pro has been further modernised look-wise. Most telling is the redesigned kidney grille with an outer Black high-gloss finishing.

Part of the new design language extends to the Adaptive LED Headlights with high-beam assistant, now featuring a new daytime running light signature. 

Enhancing the exterior look of the coupé is the standard inclusion of M high-gloss Shadowline with extended contents and the M Aerodynamics Package.

The update has the car run on staggered 19-inch M light alloy wheels in Double-spoke style 995 Min Jet Black with run-flat properties accompanied by M Sport brakes in red high-gloss.

At the rear are laser taillights as standard - featuring light threads illuminated by lasers and laser light lettering.

Interior features an M Leather steering wheel, covered in black Walknappa leather with a flattened bottom, as well as an exclusive 12 o’clock marker.

The driver-oriented BMW Curved Display with touchscreen functionality combines a 12.3-inch instrument display with a 14.9-inch control display.

Cascade lighting in the centre of the instrument panel is paired with M interior trim finishers in carbon fibre. Upholstered in Sensatec perforated material, the standard Sport seats come equipped with memory function. 

Emphasis on the interior's refined 'Luxury' is the instrument panel that features an upper section covered in black Sensatec. Other standard features are M headliner anthracite, interior and exterior mirror package, interior rear-view mirror with automatic anti-dazzle function and floor mars in velour, comfort access system, through-loading system and storage compartment package. 

BMW Curved Display powered by the BMW Operating System 8.5, now offers a new home screen with QuickSelect, new widgets, and an optimised menu structure. Voice control via the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

The BMW Live Cockpit Professional includes a Head-Up Display while Augmented View utilises Augmented Reality for route guidance. 

It is equipped with enhanced telephony with extended smartphone connectivity, Teleservices, ConnectedDrive Services, Connected Package Professional, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also equipped as standard is a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system with a 464W amplifier.

Standard driver assistance systems includes the Attentiveness Assistant which monitors driver behaviour and suggests breaks when needed. 

The Driving Assistant package offers Lane Departure Warning with lane return, Lane Change Warning with warning symbol in the exterior mirror, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning, Rear Collision Warning and Speed Limit Info with a no-overtaking indicator and Manual Speed Limit Assist. 

Other standard driver assistance features include the Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, Front Collision Warning system with braking function, Pedestrian Warning with city braking and Adaptive Brake Assist. For parking convenience, the standard Parking Assistant includes Park Assist, Lateral Parking Aid, Reversing Assist Camera, Reversing Assistant and Active Park Distance Control.

Enhancing the drive experience is the Variable Sport Steering that is standard with the M Sport Pro package and the Adaptive M suspension that automatically adjusts to current road conditions and driving style. 

The powertrain is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and a rear-wheel drive configuration to deliver 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque.

Exterior colour offerings include: Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Mineral White metallic, M Portimao Blue metallic, Cape York Green, Fire Red metallic, Arctic Race Blue, M Portimao Blue metallic and M Brooklyn Grey metallic. 

Upholstery options includes Sensatec perforated Tacora Red, Sensatec perforated Cognac and Sensatec perforated Black. 

The 2024 BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive is priced at RM870,800 while the 2024 BMW 430i Coupé M Sport Pro comes in at RM465,800 - prices are on the road, without insurance and consists of the 5-Year Extended Warranty and Service Package.
