BMW Malaysia has launched two new model for the 5 Series line-up, an entry level 520i (CKD) and a Flagship EV i5 M60 xDrive (CBU), both models are open for booking.

The 520i is the only internal combustion engine-powered model in the 5 Series lineup. Although it is the entry-level option, its overall equipment is far from basic.

The 520i comes standard with LED automatic headlights, an illuminated BMW iconic glow kidney grille, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 14.9-inch center screen, a head-up display, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ambient lighting, Veganza leather upholstery, powered adjusted seats, four-zone automatic climate control, and Driving & Parking Assistance Plus and more.

For a sportier essence, customers can opt for the M Performance Package, which includes 21-inch M sport wheels and carbon fiber body panels.

In terms of powertrain, the 520i features a 2.0L turbocharged engine (B48) paired with a 48V mild hybrid system. The engine produces 208 hp and 330 Nm of torque, delivering power to the rear wheels via an 8-speed Steptronic sport transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds.

Exterior color options include Black Sapphire Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, Phytonic Blue Metallic, and Cape York Green Metallic. The interior is available in Veganza Perforated with Quilted Black or Veganza Perforated with Quilted Espresso Brown.

The flagship i5 M60 xDrive, on the other hand, is a high-performance version of the i5, where luxury is, of course, guaranteed.

The i5 M60 shares the same 83.9 kWh battery pack as the i5 eDrive40. With a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, it generates 601 PS and 795 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. However, the i5 M60 xDrive has a range of up to 516 km (WLTP), slightly less than the i5 eDrive40's 582 km. It supports charging at 22 kW AC and 205 kW DC.

Being the highest spec-ed 5 Series, the equipments are also high class as well, is boasts an impressive array of features including the M Sport Pro sports package, carbon fiber panels, BMW iconic glow kidney grille ,LED automatic headlamp cluster, 21-inch M Sport wheels with red brake calipers and M adaptive suspension.

As for the upholstery, a panoramic glass sunroof, M Leather steering wheel and seat belts, Driving Assistance Professional, Parking Assistance Plus, a 12.3-inch full digital instrument cluster, and a 14.9-inch curved center screen. It also offers the Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System, Digital Key Plus, ambient lights, HUD, wireless mobile phone charger and Virtual Electric Vehicle Sound.
