BYD Malaysia has updated the Atto 3 to a much practical state with a more exciting price point.

The sole Standard Range variant has been given the Extended Range treatment, now boasting a 480 km on the NEDC cycle.

Performance-wise the model's 60.48 kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and single front motor delivers 204 PS and 310 Nm of torque. 

This allows for an acceleration sprint of 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

 

The car supports 88 kW of DC fast charging, with battery going from 10-80% charge in 40 minutes. AC charging remains at 7 kW with a full charge taking an estimated 9 hours and 42 minutes.

Other new highlights to the 2024 Atto 3 includes black window surrounds and D-pillars, a 'BYD' badge at the back and a new Cosmos Black colour option. 

Wheels are 18-inch turbine-style alloy wheels with Continental EcoContact 6Q tyres.

Inside is a larger 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen (12.8 inches before) as well as a new black and dark blue two-tone colour scheme for cars painted Boulder Grey or Cosmos Black, multi-colour ambient lighting, 8 speakers, PM 2.5 air filter, and powered tailgate.

Previously the driving range was 410km, battery size of 49.92kWh, acceleration of 7.9 seconds, 17-inch tyres, DC charging up to 70kW, no one touch open/close tailgate, 6 Diract HD Sound speakers, no PM 2.5 air filter, and single colour gradient for ambient lighting.

Returning standard kit comprises of adaptive LED headlights, roof rails, keyless entry with an NFC key card, push-button start, single-zone automatic air con, six-way driver’s and four-way passenger side power-adjustable front seats, faux leather upholstery, a panoramic glass sunroof, heated side-view mirrors, navigation, wired Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, a Qi wireless charger and a 360-degree camera system.

Safety features come in the form of seven airbags, stability control, and a full range of driver assistance systems - autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane centre assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning and a door opening warning.

The 2024 Atto 3 is priced from RM149,800. The first 300 bookings will come with wallbox home charger, 3 years service package and 4 years free road tax.
