CHERY Group (Chery) achieves a monumental milestone with the production of its 15 millionth vehicle.
Honour as the 15 millionth vehicle goes to the Tiggo 8 that rolled off the production line at Chery’s Brazil manufacturing facility.
The occasion was part of a global synchronised event where Chery cars were rolling off production lines simultaneously in four countries - Egypt, Brazil, Kazakhstan, and Malaysia.
Globally, the Tiggo 8 series has surpassed one million units in sales while earning widespread trust in key markets such as in Brazil, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Ecuador.
It has also earned several prestigious awards, including South Africa's 2023 Motor Enthusiasts' Choice award, Mexico's Top Midsize sports utility vehicle (SUV), and the Philippines' Best Midsize Crossover at the recent 19th Annual C! Awards.
In Malaysia, the Tiggo 8 PRO was introduced in 2023 during the Chery brand’s launch and is currently locally assembled (CKD) at the Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah.
Malaysia according to Chery, stands out as a gateway to other right-hand drive markets.
Since Chery’s first vehicle rolled off the line on December 18, 1999, the company has maintained its position as China’s top passenger car exporter for 21 consecutive years, expanding its business to over 100 countries and regions.
The group sold 1,752,793 units from January to September 2024, representing a 39.9% year-on-year increase, with exports reaching 829,353 units, marking a 24.5% year-on-year increase.
Chery’s dual-track strategy which focuses on both domestic and international markets has fueled substantial growth, with exports now representing nearly 50% of total sales.
The company has shown impressive performance in both the internal combustion engine (ICE) and new energy vehicle (NEV) sectors. Year-on-year, ICE vehicle sales rose by 24.9%, while sales of NEV surged by an astounding 186%.
Chery's next 15 million milestone strategy will center on brand’s user experience, advanced technology and steering towards global expansion.
The goal is not only to boost sales but also to enhance product quality, optimise structure, and elevate brand value, offering global customers more exciting, diverse, and distinctive choices.
