
Chery Malaysia launches it's own production plant in Shah Alam, first CKD Jaecoo J7 rolls of the line.

Chery Auto Malaysia has launched its first production plant in Shah Alam today. Moreover, this plant is the first in the ASEAN region to produce the premium off-road SUV, the JAECOO J7.

Strategically located in the Shah Alam industrial zone, the Chery Corporate Malaysia Factory is in close proximity to local manufacturers critical to its supply chain. The facility is also near Malaysia’s busiest port, the second largest in Southeast Asia, positioning the automaker for future exports to the ASEAN region.

Chery Automobile Co. Ltd Chairman Yin Tongyue stated, “Malaysia is a very important market for Chery. Our vision for the Malaysian market is to grow with our local partners and customers for the long term.”
Additionally, the opening of this factory has created over 500 job opportunities for the locals.

Up untill now, Chery has created over 1,000 jobs in Malaysia through its local operations. The brand also has a network of 100 sales and service centres across the nation.

Following the launch of the factory, the Jaecoo J7's official debut are just around the corner.
