Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park aims for 2026 completion
CHERY Corporate Malaysia Sdn Bhd's (Chery Malaysia) Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park is set to be ready by 2026.
Anchoring the first phase development of the 800-acre Beringin High-Tech Auto Valley (Beringin HTA Valley) ecosystem, the development of the park brings with it automotive manufacturing and the latest technologies to Hulu Selangor.
The 200-acre park is said to align with the Beringin HTA Valley’s phased vision of building integrated township that can attract talent, investment, and innovation.
Target for completion in 2026, Chery's park is projected to have an initial production capacity of 100,000 vehicles per annum, scalable to 300,000 vehicles per annum. The park will be developed at an investment and contribution of RM2.2 billion over a period of 5-years.

The remaining land area will be allocated for other developments that supports the vision of building a leading hub for automotive innovation, supply chain, vocational training, and technological advancement in the region.
Chery International President Zhang Guibing said the first phase of the development is expected to at least create anywhere between 1,500 to 3,000 job opportunities.
He added that Chery will continue to maintain their long term partnership with Inokom, as well as operations at their Shah Alam Jaecoo factory.
“Chery is proud to be an integral part of this visionary development, where we will establish state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, integrate cutting-edge smart technologies, and produce an extensive range of vehicles—from internal combustion engine (ICE) models to the latest in plug-in hybrid (PHEV), battery electric (BEV), and energy-efficient vehicle (EEV) technologies.

"We are confident that once completed it will create high-value job opportunities, house a cutting-edge R&D centre, expand vehicle exports to neighbouring countries, strengthen Selangor’s role through a robust supply chain, and solidify Malaysia’s position as a leading automotive hub in ASEAN,” said Zhang, who was in attendance at the park's groundbreaking and signing ceremony with Beringin HTA Valley master developer Legenda Beringin.
Legenda Beringin chairman Chia Song Kooi added that the project is more than a land investment as it supports Malaysia’s aspiration of being a high-tech and sustainable industrial economy by 2030 - which is in-line with the New Industrial Master Plan.
"We are grateful for the confidence placed in us by Chery, and for the dedicated support of the Selangor state government, Invest Selangor, and many other local authorities and agencies. With unity, determination, and shared ambition, we are confident in making this vision a reality.” said Chia.
