RAIN or shine, there is just no easy way to prepare for every road weather scenario.

Even professionals use specific tyres depending on the road's condition.

This is especially crucial when water is involved - where everything is naturally more slippery and tyres loose their grip quicker.

As with all tyre companies Continental Tyres too has been working to tame the wild by giving drivers mastery over the elements.

Their latest result is the MaxContact MC7. Developed and tested by a team of 25 engineers and material experts through more than 8,000 hours in R&D, the company's 7th generation tyre is all about maximum control dry or wet.

Two primary features make this possible. First are Cornering Macro-blocks that maximises the tyre's contact area with the road to create a wider footprint. It then subsequently distributes the force to other parts of the tyre for better handling and stability.

As a tyre's outer shoulder bears the greatest force and pressure while cornering the MC7 distributes the force to other parts of the tyre for better handling and stability.

The other is the optimised ReFlex Compound which comprises of an enhanced polymer blend that provides excellent safety on dry and wet roads under mild to warm temperatures.

Its' stiffness results in a higher resistance to tyre deformation and improved steering response and precision.

Precision is further emphasised by the tyre's 3D laser-cut sipes that allow for shorter-sudden braking distance.

The sipes comprise of star and lightning sipes and aquasipes, all of them working together to cut through the water film from multiple angles and directions and then effectively ejecting water from the grooves.

These sporty qualities are supported by a razor focus on as little tyre-noise as possible.

Tyre treads produce noise as sound waves travel through the grooves and the MC7's Noise Breaker 3.0 interrupts those waves by disrupting the homogeneity of the grooves.

This means the sound waves are broken up and dissipated into smaller frequencies, preventing noise from building up and travelling into the cabin of the car for increased silence.

As with most of Continental's tyres customers the MC7 is covered by the brand's Total Confidence Plan (TCP) which is a comprehensive package of all available warranties and services.

Accessible through the Conti TCP app that is available on iOS, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery, the TCP includes 12 months extra warranty on road hazard from the date of tyre purchased and 1-to-1 tyre replacement.

Adding to the MaxContact MC7 tyres' characteristics is the inclusion of the brand's proprietary ContiSeal technology.

Refined for over two decades the auto-seal tyre technology allows for immediate sealing of 80% of all punctures, and 99.9% of tyre punctures up to 5mm in diameter as they occur. This creates an airtight seal that prevents air from leaking.

Available in fitment sizes from 16 to 21 inches the Continental MaxContact 7 is available on the Continental Tyres Official Store on Shopee and Lazada in Malaysia.
