VOLVO Malayia's fastest acceleration model to date is also the brand's most affordable model in the current market with a starting price from RM188,888.

That's not all. Available in Plus, Ultra and Ultra Twin Performance variants, the fully electric vehicle (EV) to be assembled locally (CKD) EX30 is designed to have the lowest carbon footprint of any Volvo car to date – less than 30 tonnes over 200,000km of driving.

Additionally, it is also Volvo's only sub-compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) with Google built-in that is now enhanced with wireless Apple AirPlay, and the first of its cars to introduce Harman Kardon Premium Sound within a single soundbar unit embedded in the dashboard.

Standard to the model are LED headlights, 19-inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels, Pilot Assist, Harman Kardon Premium Sound, power tailgate, frameless auto-dimming side and rear-view mirrors, ambient interior themes, a contextual user interface with Google Built-in, 171 mm of ground clearance and the full suite of Volvo’s advanced driver assistance systems. 

In addition to the suite and systems (assisted by sensors and radars) shared with Volvo’s top-of-the-line cars are: door opening alert, upgraded pilot assist, automatic braking, and automatic steering avoidance.

The Ultra variants add Park Pilot Assist, 360° camera, powered front seats, and a panoramic sunroof - making it the first Volvo to include the brand's new generation Park Pilot Assist feature that can handle parallel, curved, perpendicular and diagonal fishbone parking spaces. 

Park Pilot Assist can automatically identify available parking spaces and take over the accelerator, brakes and steering to manoeuvre the car.

It has a dedicated phone app that can be used to lock and unlock the car, set charging levels, and manage settings remotely.

At the heart both Plus and Ultra variants is a single permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle that delivers 272PS and 343 Nm of power and torque respectively for a 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds.

The range-topping Ultra Twin on the other hand boasts 428PS of power and 543 Nm of torque to result in a 3.6 seconds century sprint. 

The trade-off is that both Plus and Ultra variants come with a 69kWh NMC battery pack that provides up to 476 km (WLTP) of range while the Ultra Twin Performance has a shorter 450 km.

It is capable of 175kW DC fast charging and can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes.

Inspired by nature, with clean, minimalistic Scandinavian design, all variants for Malaysia come with a sporty Indigo interior featuring upcycled denim textiles, upholstery made from 100 percent recycled polyester and Nordico with recycled PET content, while plastic materials are made with 30 percent recycled content.

Cabin's atmosphere is enhanced with five interior ambient light themes inspired by Swedish nature - owners can pair each lighting theme with an ambient soundscape.

Storage also plays a huge role in the EX30 with its in-built wireless phone charging slot that keeps up to two phones in place, flexible central storage, sliding cupholder and storage under the central armrest, and large door pockets replacing traditional door speakers. 

In addition to that is a removable rear storage box under the central armrest that doubles up as a trash bin, rear luggage space of 318 litres with all seats up or 718 litres with the second-row split seats fully folded, 61 litres of hidden rear storage under the flexible load floor which can also be used to hide valuable cargo like laptops, and a “Will it Fit?” graphic on the power tailgate.

The EX30 comes in choices of Cloud Blue, Vapour Grey, Crystal White, and Onyx Black exteriors.

Moss Yellow colour is exclusive to the Ultra variant for a limited run in Malaysia.

The variants Plus, Ultra and Ultra Twin Performance are priced from RM188,888, RM208,888, and RM228,888, respectively.

Sabah and Sarawak customers get the three variants at RM188,648, RM208,648 and RM228,648, respectively.

As with every fully electric model from Volvo, the EX30 comes with five-year complimentary Volvo Service Plan (VSP), digital services, 24-hour roadside assistance, and unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty. The high-voltage battery pack is warrantied for eight years.
