Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider goes for RM5.1 million
Ferrari
A Ferrari's elegance is always elevated when it gets the Spider treatment.
The Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider is perfect for those who want the option to break from the confines of the 12Cilindri's cabin every now and then.
It differs from the 12Cilindri by having two buttresses at the rear and no rear bench with the rear zone of the cabin which is used to stow the retractable hard top (RHT) - which takes 14 seconds to open or close, and can be operated at speeds up to 45 km/h.
This is where every form of additional weight reduction comes into focus.

Lightness was a key requisite throughout the entire development of the chassis which resulted in just an additional 60kg more than the 12Cilindri despite the 12Cilindri Spider's extra mechanism.
Much of everything else follows the specifications of the 12Cilindri.
Design of the interior cockpit sees extensive use of sustainable materials such as Alcantara that contains 65% recycled polyester.
For the first time on a Ferrari production car, a secondary alloy with 100% recycled material has been used to make the shock towers of the gearbox subframe.
This allows a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of 146 kg of CO2 for every car produced without compromising the mechanical characteristics as non-recycled alloy.

Overall the interior style is inspiration from Ferrari's more recent dual-cockpit architecture seen in the Roma, Roma Spider and Purosangue.
It has a newly introduced Human Machine Interface (HMI) comprising three displays. All of the main functions can be controlled from the central 10.25-inch touchscreen capacitive display that is flanked by a 15.6-inch driver display and an 8.8-inch passenger-dedicated display.
Other features includes a capacitive steering wheel seen on all of the latest models, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-based mobile connectivity systems as standard, and a wireless charging mat on the central tunnel also as standard.
Available as an option is the high-end audio system developed in collaboration with Burmester that comprises of 15 loudspeakers that unleashes a massive 1600 W, Ring Tweeter technology which minimises distortion, and a powerful dual coil subwoofer by Ultraflat Headliners for a 360-degree listening experience.

At the heart is the aforementioned Ferrari V12 engine mated to an 8-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) to deliver 830 cv and with maximum revs rising to 9500 rpm - 80% of total torque is already available at just 2500 rpm.
Its new exhaust system through two twin tailpipes complies with the latest emissions requirements (EU6E, China 6b and Bin 50). A ceramic catalytic converter coupled with a particulate filter is introduced here.
Rolling on 21-inch rims the 12Cilindr Spider can be fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport S5 or Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tyres - both of which were developed in a new size for the Maranello company: 275/35ZR21 at the front and 315/35ZR21 at the rear.
As with all other Ferraris the 12Cilindr Spider comes with an extended seven-year maintenance programme which covers all regular maintenance for the first seven years of the car’s life.

This very special service is also available to owners buying pre-owned Ferraris.
Owners in Malaysia can perform regular maintenance (at intervals of either 20,000 km or once a year with no mileage restrictions) with Genuine Spare Parts at Ital Auto’s Official Aftersales Centre in Glenmarie, Kuala Lumpur.
Ital Auto Malaysia Sdn Bhd is the official importer and distributor for Ferrari cars in Malaysia.
As part of the Official Dealership Network, the facility is fully equipped with Ferrari Diagnostic equipment and is manned by highly-trained personnel, including Certified Master Technicians with over 10 years of experience in servicing Ferrari vehicles.
The Ferrari 12Cilindr Spider is available in Malaysia from RM5,100,000 inclusive of import duties and options (excluding registration and insurance).
