GREAT Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia's first complete knock-down (CKD) unit has rolled off the assembly line.

Assembled at EP Manufacturing Berhad's new CKD production plant in Melaka, the Haval H6 HEV is the company's first locally assembled model with deliveries expected to follow after its launch in October.

It is the fourth model launched by GWM Malaysia after the Ora Good Cat, Ora 07 and the Tank 300.

The model will undergo a comprehensive procedure that incorporates over 12 rigorous quality checks once it rolls off the production line.

“Our focus is not just on delivering high-quality vehicles but also on ensuring a smooth ownership experience. With the comprehensive inspection process, we ensure every Haval H6 HEV unit meets our exacting standards for quality and reliability,”” said GWM Malaysia managing director Cui Anqi.

With the support of the engineering and technical personnel from GWM China, GWM Malaysia targets a production capacity of 10,000 units annually in the initial phase of production at the new CKD plant.

The second phase of preparation aims to expand the target to 300,000 units.

Titled the ‘Best-selling SUV in China’ for more than 100 consecutive months, the Haval H6 has sold over 4 million units globally. 

It houses the brand's Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) technology, features ventilated seats for both the driver and front passenger, and comes equipped with the Level 2 (L2) Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

Now open for booking, the estimated pricing of the model is expected to come under RM145,000. 

Customers who place their booking before the official launch can enjoy the following: unlock RM3,000 in exclusive value with an RM1,000 booking fee, privileged for a 10-year or 1,000,000 km engine warranty (whichever comes first), entitled to an 8-year or 1,000,000 km HEV system warranty (whichever comes first) which includes the DHT system, high voltage battery and cable, and transmission control unit - terms and conditions apply while limited to first-hand owners with private registration only.
