GREAT Wall Motor Malaysia's (GWM) Tank 300 is now officially priced after numerous teases throughout the first-half of this year.

The completely built-up (CBU) off-road capable sports utility vehicle (SUV) which has garnered quite the attention for its rugged looks is confirmed to be priced at RM 250,000.

It will be available in Dusk Orange, Fossil Grey, Crystal Black, and Pearl White colours with deliveries of the vehicle said to be taking place as early as this month.

The first 300 GWM Tank 300 bookings will receive numerous early-bird packages from GWM, such as a 5-Year or 100,000 km of free service maintenance that includes labour and parts - applicable every 10,000 KM or every 6 months whichever comes first, and an unlimited mileage lifetime warranty for engine and transmission (limited to first-hand owner).

This is on top of the standard 6-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty. 

Additionally, these 300 customers will also receive a GWM x Thule Adventure Kit, which includes an RM8,000 Thule Voucher and a Thule Paramount Backpack worth RM999.  

Lastly, customers who have completed their vehicle registration by August 12, 2024 will stand the chance to win an adventure trip with GWM Tank to ChongQing and ChengDu, China. The 10 customers will be selected through a lucky draw contest. 

It is powered by a 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder petrol engine that's paired to a ZF 8-Speed Automatic Transmission (8AT) to deliver 220 PS and 380 Nm of torque. The off-road centric SUV run on 18-inch chrome alloy wheels.

With off-roading a huge part of the Tank 300's image it is expected of it to perform under tough conditions. To address this the model features the likes of an all-terrain control system with 9 driving modes, crawl control mode, and tank turn which is said to allow drivers to manoeuvre across difficult territories.

The SUV also runs on a dual-speed electronically-controlled part-time four-wheel drive (4WD) which can alternate between two-wheel drive (2WD) and 4WD mode to also make use of the 9 driving modes which include: Standard (2H), Standard (4H), Snow Mode (4H), 4L Mode (Normal, Mud-Sand, Pothole, Mountain, Rock) and Expert Mode. 

Other off-road centric qualities are its Transparent Chassis Function which provides visibility beneath the vehicle to eliminate the blind spot while driving, being able to drive on a 23.1-degree angle ramp, 224 mm ground clearance, a maximum gradability of 70% and has a maximum wading depth of 700 mm.

In the cabin are black Nappa leather covered seats, an aviation gear shifter, an 8-way adjustable driver's seat with massage function, nine Infinity loudspeakers, 64-colour ambient mood lighting,and an ultra quiet NVH that is achieved with a double-layer soundproof acoustic glass.

Its' dual 12.3-inch full colour instrument and touchscreen infotainment screen with anti-dazzle and anti-reflection features supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay,

Additional practical features include rear air vents, wireless charging port, USB power outlets, and a fold-down centre armrest with cupholders. Rear passenger seats comes with two level of adjustment and can completely go flat in a 60:40 split fold.

The Tank 300 achieves a 5-star ANCAP safety rating through features such as: Type Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), 360 degree all-around view monitor with Transparent Chassis Function, Automatic Collision Unlocking and Automatic Collision Fuel cut-off functions, a 1500 MPa ultra-high strength car frame and six integrated side and front airbags. 

Its advance Level 2 (L2) Driving Assistance suite includes Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Intelligent Cruised Adaptation (ICA), Lane Central Keeping (LCK), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and the use of a 360-degree camera.

 

GWM will be hosting a Tank 300 off-road test drive event this month from 20th to 21st at M4TREC which is a 4WD training and experience centre in Semenyih, Selangor.

The event will allow the public to test out the performance and capabilities of the off-road SUV model in challenging and varied road conditions. 

The GWM Tank 300 has maintained its position as the No. 1 SUV brand in China for 42 consecutive months while achieving global sales of over 300,000 units in just three years.
