
Honda HR-V gets 2025 update, three powertrain options

HONDA Malaysia's HR-V has gotten a 2025 update mostly in the form of a refreshed aesthetic and a few added features inside out.
The new B-segment sports utility vehicle (B-SUV) HR-V features a refreshed front grille that integrates with full LED headlights with Active Cornering Light (RS variants) along with a distinctive full rear LED taillight strip. All variants now come with 18-inch two-tone Alloy Wheels, and the e:HEV RS variant also comes with the expected sporty RS Package.
Cabin sees a a redesigned centre console with a wireless charger, while the new floating 8-inch Display Audio Unit improves visibility and ease of use. The e:HEV RS variant now comes equipped with RS-embossed Sporty seats.


Finally, the HR-V gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as standard across all variants. All variants are complemented by USB-C ports located at both the front and rear of the cabin in addition to the inclusion of Honda’s signature Air Diffusion System.
Under the hood are three distinctive powertrains:
- 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine that produces 121PS and 145Nm of torque.
- 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine that delivers 181PS and 240Nm.
- A 1.5L e:HEV powertrain at the top of the range that delivers 131PS and 253Nm of torque.


Honda Sensing as standard across all variant, with the S and E variants now equipped with Honda Connect.
Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Narushi Yazaki said this launch also marks a significant milestone as the company celebrates 21 years of Honda hybrid leadership in Malaysia.

"We are confident the new HR-V has always been and will be an incomparable companion, inspiring new paths of freedom and creating moments you will cherish forever," he added.



Over 170,000 units of HR-V have been sold since its introduction in 2015, with the model holding a leading 41% market share in the Non-National B-SUV segment (as of H1 2025)
The 2025 HR-V variants are priced at RM 115,900 (S), RM 130,900 (E) ,RM 137,900 (V) and RM 143,900 (e:HEV RS) - prices are On-The-Road without insurance.
Two new colour options are available: Phoenix Orange Pearl and the sleek Crystal Black Pearl.
They join the standard available colours include Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Stellar Diamond Pearl.
Both Phoenix Orange Pearl and Platinum White Pearl colours come at an additional RM800 surcharge.
