HONDA Malaysia’s Civic returns for 2025 in both e:HEV RS and Petrol RS variants. And with it comes a number of first-in-segment connectivity feature updates.

Most prominent is the new Google Built-In that allows users to access Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play directly from the 9-inch Advanced Display Audio system.

Google Built-In allows users to access Google Assistant for hands-free commands, real-time navigation through Google Maps, and access to a variety of apps via Google Play.

The 2025 Civic's display system also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Honda Connect in the new Civic is then enhanced with four new functions: remote light and horn, subscription and payment, recall notification, and personal data wipe.

Honda Sensing for the C-segment sedan has also been improved particularly in its Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow (ACC with LSF) and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS).

Styling-wise the 2025 Civic sees a more dynamic updated frontage, new rims for the e:HEV variant, and updated taillights.

The e:HEV RS features body-coloured front grille extensions and lower grille garnishes paired with 18-inch Matte Grey Alloy Wheels.

Meanwhile, the Petrol RS showcases black-painted grille accents for a sportier look. Black taillight extension is standard to the RS variants along with a new RS emblem.

A new Canyon River Blue Metallic colour, first seen on the latest CR-V, also makes its debut here for the CIvic as it joins the line-up of Platinum White Pearl, Ignite Red Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl - there's an additional RM800 surcharge for the Ignite Red Metallic and Platinum White Pearl colour while the Crystal Black Pearl is exclusive to the petrol variant.

Solar and security film tint is now standard. The cabin features red colour inserts and a refreshed pattern for its combination leather upholstery.

In-car wireless charging is available in addition to the standard USB Type-C ports.

New to the e:HEV is an Individual customisable drive mode setting in addition to the standard Normal, Sport and Econ. A 10.2-inch TFT meter and Honda key card use is also exclusive to the variant - Petrol RS gets a 7-inch TFT meter.

Dimensions of the 5-star Asean NCAP 2025 Civic remain largely similar to the previous model outside a small 3mm addition to its 4,681mm length (4,678 previously). The car retains its 1,802mm width, 1,415mm height and 2,735mm wheelbase.

Honda Sensing is present as a safety standard feature across all variants. The suite includes: Low Speed Follow (LSF), Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Auto High Beam (AHB).

The car's Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) performance is optimised through the combination of Active Noise Control (ANC) with Active Sound Control (ASC).

Other features included are Honda LaneWatch, Multi-Angle Rear View Camera, Walk Away Auto Lock, Remote Engine Start and Driver Attention Monitor.

At the heart of the e:HEV RS is p 2.0L e:HEV powertrain that is paired with an Electric Continuous Variable Transmission (e-CVT) that delivers a maximum power of 184PS and 315Nm of torque.

The Petrol RS features a 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine giving a maximum power of 182PS and 240Nm of torque.

Managing director and chief executive officer Hironobu Yoshimura said Honda Malaysia ended 2024 on a high note with sales exceeding 81,600 units.

"With this achievement we are proud to announce that we have maintained our leadership in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment for the 11th consecutive year. As of December 2024, the Civic holds a commanding 81% market share in the Non-National C-segment, reflecting the strong trust and support of our customers.

"We are starting the year on a positive outlook with the introduction of the 2025 Civic today which will bring this legacy to the next level with its advanced powertrain and seamless connectivity, transforming every drive into a remarkable journey,” he added.
