HONDA Malaysia announced it would launch a total of three models by the end of this year.

This includes the new Civic which was launched back in January and the upcoming battery electric vehicle (BEV) e:N1.

On display at last year's Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2024), the e:N1 is set to debut possibly by mid-year earliest.

It is the company's first BEV which will also serve as the start of Honda Malaysia's electrification plans moving forward as it aims to introduce a total of three BEVs by 2027.

Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Hironobu Yoshimura said the model exemplifies Honda's advanced BEV features, while also introducing the company's initial electric vehicle (EV) technology to the Malaysian market.

"Aligned with our 2025 business direction, the e:N1 is poised to captivate customers with its distinctive positioning, backed by Honda's extensive experience and wide network of after-sales support.   "The introduction of the BEV is a key component of the company's business strategy, building upon Honda's global electrification approach and establishing a strong foundation for Honda Malaysia's electrification journey.

"It paves the way for our three-year plan to introduce three new BEV models to the Malaysian market by 2027. Beyond expanding our product line-up, this initiative emphasises Honda's commitment to reinforcing its prominent and unique position in the industry," said Yoshimura.

In addition to enhancing its product offerings, Honda Malaysia aims to also improve its sales and after-sales services this year to bolster its 104 dealerships nationwide.

The aim is to ensure that all its associates stay ahead of the latest advancements by equipping them with the knowledge and expertise to deliver services that exceed expectations as Honda Malaysia continues to grow.

Honda Malaysia will also continue to prioritise digitalisation to streamline the after-sales experience through its HondaTouch platform - which has currently registered more than 430,000 active users. These factors, along with continued strong demand for their existing lineup, have strengthened the company's confidence in maintaining its leading position in the industry.

The company has set its sights on selling 83,000 units in 2025 as it aims to strengthen its market presence with a projected market share of 10.6%.

This is an increase from 2024's performance where it achieved total sales of 81,600 units and secured a 10% market share.

The results had solidified Honda Malaysia's position as the No.1 car brand in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment for the 11th consecutive year.

The HR-V, City and CR-V were the company's top three best-selling models, contributing 26%, 25% and 14% to total sales, respectively. Additionally, the CR-V, HR-V, and Civic claimed the No.1 spots in their respective Non-National segments.

Honda Malaysia's e:HEV models have also gained significant market traction by impressively accounting for nearly 30% of Malaysia's total hybrid car sales in 2024.
