UMW Toyota Motor has officially brought into Malaysia the ninth-generation of its iconic D-segment sedan.

Sporting a new “Hammerhead” design styling, the 2025 Toyota Camry was officially launched during the opening of the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024.

Said styling is inspired by the bold structure of the Hammerhead shark and Toyota Crown, the sedan comes with a slim upper grille and a wide lower grille for a more sophisticated and aggressive stance, while its aerodynamic air curtains aims to enhance handling stability and reduce turbulence.

Locally we're getting a sole variant of the 2.5L hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) model that houses Toyota’s 5th-generation Hybrid System.

This includes the combination of a four-cylinder Dynamic Force Engine that delivers 186 PS and 221 Nm of torque, a compact electric transaxle with a lithium-ion high-voltage battery and a front-wheel drive (FWD) e-CVT for a total 227 PS and potentially 1,250 km of range.

Inside we're looking at ventilated seats for the driver and front passenger, a redesigned steering wheel for a luxurious feel, a 12.3-inch multimedia display with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wired Android Auto, and a 12.3-inch full-colour Multi-Information Display (MID).

The sedan comes in six colours. Alongside the classic Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black the new options include Cement Grey, Dark Blue Mica, Precious Metal, and Emotional Red.

Price of the 2025 Camry starts from RM248,800, a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty and an 8-year/unlimited mileage hybrid electric warranty covering the hybrid battery, inverter, and power management control unit. 

Customers can extend the hybrid warranty to 10 years.

KLIMS 2024 is held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from December 5-11.
