THE 10th edition of the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024 (KLIMS 2024) closed on a high note as it drew in a total of 183,221 visitors.

From Dec 5-11, 70 automotive and mobility brands were showcased across the seven days at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

Notable participants include: Toyota, Perodua, Proton, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mazda, Kia, Great Wall Motor (GWM), MG Motor, XPeng, Modenas, Kawasaki, Aion, Royal Enfield, Harley-Davidson, Peugeot, and Leapmotor.

Highlights came in the form of the FT-3e, Land Cruiser SE, Hilux FCEV, and the versatile Kayoibako by Toyota, while Nissan showcased the Hyper Tourer.

Honda brought in the Prelude Concept alongside the compact and foldable Honda Motocompacto electric scooter, as well as their eVTOL flying car concept. 

Malaysia's automotive potential was also further highlighted by Perodua's electric vehicle (EV) concept car eMO-II and the Ativa Fuze concept.

Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) president Mohd Shamsor said the event stands as a testament to Malaysia's expanding influence in the global mobility landscape. 

"From cutting-edge automotive technologies to visionary prototypes, the event exemplified Malaysia's commitment to shaping the future of transportation. 

"This milestone reaffirms our position as a key player in the global mobility ecosystem, inspiring collaboration and innovation across industries. We are excited to build on this momentum, driving progress and setting new benchmarks as we navigate the future of mobility.

Exhibitors were also celebrated for their creativity and design throught the Best Booth Design Awards.

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd. claimed 1st place, followed by Proton Holdings Bhd in 2nd place and Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd in 3rd place in the OEM Category (400 sqm and above). 

Stellantis Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. emerged as the overall winner in the OEM Category (399 sqm and below). 

In the Non-OEM Category, PECCA Leather Sdn. Bhd. took the top spot, with Wedrink Enterprise Management (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd securing 2nd place and Didi Group rounding out the top three in 3rd place.

The Best Booth Design Awards were evaluated based on criteria including visual appeal with eye-catching graphics and clear brand representation in line with the theme "Beyond Mobility," efficient space utilisation encouraging visitor interaction, functionality to support product demonstrations and presentations, and interactivity through engaging elements like VR experiences, touch screens, and hands-on displays.

KLIMS 2024's grand prize winner was Mohd Azzarain Abdul Aziz who drove away in a Toyota Yaris 1.5G Limited, while first prize winner Leaw Xiu Qi took home a Perodua Axia.

Qube Integrated Malaysia executive chairman Richard Teo, whose company was the show manager of KLIMS 2024, said the event has been a remarkable platform for fostering collaboration, showcasing groundbreaking designs, and inspiring the future of transportation.
