TWO of Bermaz Motor's upcoming Mazda sports utility vehicle (SUV) models are currently on showcase at the 10th Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2024).

Both the CX-60 and CX-80 have yet to be officially launched in Malaysia, but visitors to the automotive event held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from Dec 5-11 have the opportunity to get upclose with the models.

Since no local specifications for the models have been announced we've decided to wait on it since both, depending on the market, come with various setups.

One of the highlights is they do come in a 48V mild hybrid powertrain system option with the CX-80 even having a plug-in hybrid electric (e-Skyactiv-PHEV) powertrain.

First introduced globally in 2022, the CX-60 will be the brand’s new flagship SUV. This mid-size SUV’s front grille has a taller, bolder profile, enhanced by Mazda’s signature wing with an integrated indicator compared to its sibling models. The lighting design features vertically stacked headlights and distinctive L-shaped signature lights for added ruggedness.

Inside is a rearward cabin design that is balanced by a flowing line that sweeps from the cabin's rear edge to the ground with the aim to invoke the Japanese calligraphy’s fluidity and artistry. 

Mazda pairs its cabin and features with the incorporation of natural materials like wood and woven textiles to celebrate Japanese craftsmanship.

On the other hand the mid-size CX-80 Crossover SUV which was first introduced in Europe in April 2024 emphasises greatly on space and a premium level experience.

The three-row seven-seater seating can accommodates items like golf bags and strollers in the cargo area even with the third-row seats in use.

Second and third rows can be folded down to expand the cargo area for greater storage capacity.

It is also said to come with a premium high-fidelity sound system for an immersive audio experience.

Bermaz has not confirmed when they'll be launched though both models is estimated to make their way onto our roads next year.
