KLIMS returns on Dec 5, 2024 after six years of absence
THE Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) is making a return this year after a six-year hiatus.
KLIMS 2024 will be held from Dec 5-11 this year at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, (MITEC).
Previously known as the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show, the 10th edition KLIMS adopts the 'Beyond Mobility' theme.
This is in line with the evolution of the automotive scene especially that in Japan where the renowned Tokyo Motor Show has since been renamed the Japan Mobility Show as of last year.
According to the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) in a statement, consumer preferences are increasingly shifting towards electric vehicles (EVs) and sustainable mobility solutions.
This trend is driven by heightened environmental awareness and advancements in EV technology.
Reflecting the shift towards an environmentally friendly, sustainable lifestyle and supporting the government’s commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions as per-the National Automotive Policy (NAP) 2020, MAA further adds that KLIMS 2024 makes for an excellent platform for all categories of electrified vehicles, vendors, charging equipment suppliers, and service providers to exhibit their latest products, innovations, and technologies - essentially pushing the boundaries of what mobility can achieve.
"The market outlook is promising with significant growth in the Malaysian automotive industry and a shift towards EVs and sustainable solutions. We are excited to bring together industry leaders, global brands, and enthusiasts at KLIMS to shape the future of mobility and innovation.
"This year, we are proud to partner with the Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) to elevate KLIMS 2024 and enhance the capabilities of all automotive stakeholders," said MAA president Mohd Shamsor bin Mohd Zain.
KLIMS 2024 is supported by key industry associations and event partners such as the Motorcycle and Scooter Assemblers and Distributors Association of Malaysia (MASAAM), Automotive Federation Malaysia (AFM), the Malaysian Automotive Component Parts Manufacturers Association (MACPMA), Carsome, Big Onion, and Motonation.
Brands that have confirmed their participation at at this year's event includes Perodua, Proton, Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, KIA, Mazda, Kawasaki, Great Wall, MG Motor, GAC Motor, Allianz, V-Kool, Kineta, PG Pro Perma Glass, NVK Interior, GoInsuran, WTC Automotif and TCCL.
Additional brands will be announced closer to the date.
"We look forward to welcoming everyone to KLIMS 2024 and witnessing the future of mobility together," said Shamsor.
