Leapmotor set to enter Malaysia market with C10
LEAPMOTOR will officially enter Malaysia's automotive market with the arrival of the mid-size crossover sports utility vehicle (SUV) C10.
Slated to launch sometime in Q4 2024, the C10 battery electric vehicle (BEV) has garnered international recognition such as the 2023 International CMF Design and the 2024 French Design Award.
Tailored towards both young professionals and families the model is built on the Leap 3.0 modular platform and features an in-house developed lithium iron phosphate battery pack.

The power unit, built in with an AI Battery Management System (BMS), is integrated into an advanced Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) architecture.
Incorporating the battery pack directly into the vehicle's chassis is said to offer 17.5% improvement in battery space layout for improved thermal management to prevent heat spread for up to 720 minutes.
This also enables flexible charging inputs that include 800V/400V and 4C/2C supercharging technology.
Additionally, the CTC architecture reportedly gives the model improved ride and handling with a rated 42,500Nm/deg torsional rigidity.

Said architecture is then integrated with Leapmotor's trademark Four-Leaf Clover Central Electronic and Electrical Architecture (E/E) system that comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip.
The system is then unified by a high-performance System-on-Chip (SoC) and a single Microcontroller Unit (MCU) to centralise all control of the cockpit, driving, power, and body domains.
In all the C10's digital setup earns it a Level 2+ advance driving assist system (ADAS) rating.
Founded by chairman and chief executive officer Zhu Jiangming, the China automotive company known as “Ling Pao” in Chinese while embodying the philosophy of "Zero to Leap", is pivotal to Stellantis' venture into the EV market.

The joint-partnership between the two companies which became publicly official on Oct 2023 is also vital for Leapmotor (International) to break new ground from the confines of the Chinese domestic market.
It is now set to push the 51/49 Stellantis-led company through a monumental expansion by leveraging on Stellantis’ worldwide presence and strategic guidance.
The former has clocked positive sales growth of 400,000 units sold right until July 2024, and crowned as one of China’s top 3 EV startup brands in 2023.

The brand has developed and patented over 443 technologies, including core control instruments that are fitted in all Leapmotor models such as the mid-sized C01 sedan, the C11 SUV, the flagship C16, the compact T03 and C10 SUV - all of them are developed with in-house components that encompasses Smart Control and Connectivity systems, ADAS control units, and Vehicle Lighting modules.
Malaysia will be the first market to launch the Leapmotor brand in the India and Asia Pacific region as part of the company's expansion strategy for the region.
Markets including Thailand and Australia will follow suit, with the C10 as the company's first global product.
