LOTUS' very first electric and four-door Hyper-GT (Grand Tourer) is now available in Malaysia.

Equipped with a full-time all-wheel drive with Lotus ICC intelligent torque distribution, the Red Dot Awards recipient Emeya is available in three variants - standard, S and R.

The model runs on a dual-motor configuration paired to an advanced single-speed transmission (dual speed for the Emeya R) to deliver between 603 hp and 905 hp with 710 Nm to 985 Nm of torque.

Dubbed as one of the fastest electric GTs in the world, the model has a top speed of more than 250km/h with a 0-100km/h of 4.2 seconds - under 2.78 seconds for the Emeya R.

Depending on the variant the model has a maximum WLTP driving range of 610km. It can extend its range by 150 km with just a five-minute charge when connected to a rapid 350kW DC charger. It has the capability to boost its range from 10-80% on an 18-minute charge. 

Aerodynamics plays a major role in the Emeya's overall performance especially its 

The Emeya's performance is further bolstered by aerodynamics via its active front grille which was first seen on the Eletre Hyper-SUV (reduces drag, increases the car's efficiency and cools the batteries and the braking system depending when it is closed or opened), an active air dam that increases downforce at high speeds, and an active motorsports-inspired rear diffuser that is central to smoothening airflow beneath the car for aerodynamic efficiency.

It is also equipped with an industry-leading dual-layer active rear spoiler that offers a net downforce of more than 215kg for added stability and handling at higher speeds - eight vents are built into the model to ensure smooth air flow, optimizes aerodynamic efficiency, improves performance and range while also cooling the brakes, motors and batteries.

Feature-wise the Emeya comes with real-time road information with navigation and a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) data that displays turn signals, obstacle warnings, lane departure, forward collision alerts and blind-spot monitoring. 

Drivers get to access information using an industry leading 55-inch projected augmented reality (AR) head-up display (HUD). 

Carbon footprint reduction is a huge part of the model as it adopts numerous sustainable and durable materials such as new luxury thread made from repurposed fibres from the fashion industry, PVD aluminium, Alcantara, Nappa leather, and Ultrafabrics PU - all of which are also sustainably sourced. 

The combination of these materials for the cabin upholstery also results in weight-saving benefits.

The interior is complete with an intelligent cockpit, infotainment system, and a heavy emphasis on in-car audio system powered by KEF’s award-winning Uni-Q speaker design and Uni-Core space-saving subwoofer enclosure that is paired to a Dolby Atmos enabled 3D surround sound system.

Cabin is also integrated with Road Noise Cancellation (RNC) vibration sensors installed on the vehicle body detect motion in the tyres and suspension - with algorithms generating anti-phase acoustic signals through the speakers to counteract any interference.

The local launch of the Emeya is accompanied by the opening of Lotus Cars Malaysia’s first flagship store in Kuala Lumpur.

To compliment the Lotus Store at Pavilion Damansara Heights which was opened in February this year, the new flagship store has an overall floor space of 1,765 sq ft, of which 987 sq ft is exclusively devoted to the main showroom.

Lotus Kuala Lumpur houses two bespoke customer delivery bays, a lounge for customers, a dedicated merchandising area and a special configurator room.

For the latter, customers get to personalize and accessorize every aspect of their Lotus from exterior and interior preferences to the choice of ultra high performance components and additional safety equipment. 

This includes opting for the Lotus Dynamic Handling Pack with 4-wheel steer capabilities, and additional Driving Aid features such as the Parking Pack and Highway Assist Pack.  

The Emeya, Emeya S and Emeya R are priced at RM555,000, RM643,000 and RM777,000, respectively - prices are on-the-road excluding road tax and insurance, and is valid only for Peninsular Malaysia.

All variants of the Emeya come with a five-year or 150,000km manufacturer’s warranty, while the battery comes with an eight-year or 200,000km warranty.
