CHERY International's iCaur brand is now officially in Malaysia following its global launch at the Auto Shanghai 2025 last month.

Making its local debut at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025), iCaur was born through a collaboration between Chery and SmartMi Tech while positioning itself as a dedicated off-road New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand.

Three of the brand's fully electric sports utility vehicles (e-SUVs) are on display at the MAS 2025 - the 03, 03T, and V23. 

All of them are available for preview (Left Hand Drive units) ahead of their official launches with the iCaur 03 lto be the first model slated to go on sale within Q3 2025.

Available in both 2-Wheel Drive (2WD) and Intelligent Wheel Drive (iWD) configurations, the iCaur 03 is guided by the brand’s ‘i-Box’ design language.

The 2WD variant features a rear-mounted 135kW motor delivering 220Nm of torque, paired with a 65.7 kWh LFP battery offering up to 426 km of range (NEDC).

Those looking for more punch in its performance will find it in the iWD model which pairs a front axle motor for a combined 205kW and 385 Nm of torque, with a larger 69.8 kWh battery delivering 418 km (NEDC) of range.

The model introduces a host of proprietary technology suites (thematic classifications if you will) such as the iCare, iBrand, and iRoad to offer a blend of comfort and rugged performance.

iCare is the body structure which features a reinforced all-aluminium multi-cage design and battery armour.

The iRoad suite delivers greater traction and stability across any terrain with six selectable drive modes for urban streets and off-road adventures.

iBrand is the premium features it comes with such as the 12-speaker Infinity sound system and a 540-degree ‘Transparent Chassis’ camera for all-around visibility on any terrain.

The 03’s advanced digital cockpit features a 15.6-inch ultra-wide central display alongside a 9.2-inch driver information cluster — both part of the i-VA technology suite.

Safety-wise it is equipped with advanced driver assistance (ADAS) features under its Level 2.5 driver assistance suite, including Emergency Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Traffic Jam Assist.

The model supports 80 kW (DC) fast charging which is a 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.

Booking for the 03 can be made with a fully refundable deposit of RM1,000. The 2WD variant is available at an estimated price of RM145,000, while the iWD variant is priced at an estimated RM155,000.

Customers who place their bookings during the MAS 2025 will receive a limited-edition iCaur 03 scale model as an exclusive offer upon vehicle delivery in Q3 2025.

Much like the 03 the V23 blends classic off-road DNA with electric innovation to deliver a serious on- and off-road capability through its 2WD or iWD configurations. As it was newly launched in China more details have yet to be unveiled at present time.
