Mercedes-Benz World: AMG C 63 S E Performance F1 Edition
Mercedes-Benz
HOUSING supposedly one of the most powerful four-cylinder in the world, Mercedes-Benz's goal with the AMG C 63 S E Performance F1 Edition is all about bringing the motorsport to the road.
It features a two-speed electric motor positioned on the rear axle that supports the 2.0-litre turbo engine that is mounted longitudinally at the front.
Supposedly just like in Formula 1 the high-performance battery - with a capacity of 6.1 kWh, continuous output of 70 kW and a peak output of 150 kW for ten seconds - was specifically designed for fast power output and draw with innovative direct cooling of the cells.
It has a low weight of only 89kg that allows for a very high power density of 1.7 kW/kg while charging is done through the 3.7 kW on-board AC charger.
The combined system produces 500 kW (680 hp) and 1,020 Nm of torque, allowing the car to achieve 0-100 kph in just 3.4 seconds with an electronically-governed top speed of 280kph.
The electric powertrain and the high-performance battery with 400 volts are AMG-exclusive in-house developments - which the brand attributes to the engineering of Affalterbach-based developers.

Mercedes-Benz said the development of the lithium-ion energy storage system is inspired by technologies that have proven themselves in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team’s Formula 1 hybrid racing cars.
The car has eight AMG Dynamic Select driving modes: Electric, Comfort, Battery Hold, Sport, Sport +, Race, Slippery and Individual. All in one form of a way make use of the car's standard AMG Ride Control steel-spring suspension with Adaptive Damping System.
Styling also adopts a F1-inspired design in the form of exclusive Formula 1 Edition decals which includes the MANUFAKTUR alpine grey solid paint, a large AMG logo, and red trim lines on the sides, front and rear aprons.
The flared wheel arches and 20-inch AMG 10-spoke light-alloy wheels design are painted in matt black with its brake callipers painted in red.

AMG Aerodynamics Package adds a full high-gloss black front splitter with flics on the sides, side attachments for air outlets in the rear apron and diffuser.
Those looking for an elevated look in class have the option of the AMG Night Package which has the AMG-specific radiator grille and model badge on boot lid in dark chrome, the wings in black chrome, and red trim lines on the sides, front and rear aprons.
The interior comes in contrast of black and red with AMG Performance seats in exclusive black Nappa leather upholstery - complete with red decorative topstitching and embossed AMG emblems in the front head restraints.
The design is matched by sporty seat belts in red and the exclusive AMG carbon-fibre trim elements with red pepper.
Its AMG Performance steering wheel is wrapped in Nappa leather and Microcut microfibre with red contrasting topstitching while the AMG door sill with illuminated 'AMG' lettering comes with exchangeable cover.

Finishing the look are the exclusive F1 Edition badge in the interior and specific F1 Edition floor mats and F1 logo.
Cabin features the latest MBUX generation setup that powers the 12.3-inch LCD driver’s display and 11.9-inch LCD central display. The two are the primary interactive point for the MBUX Navigation Premium, hard-disk navigation, and MBUX augmented reality for navigation.
Driving home the track experience is the AMG Track Pace, AMG Real Performance Sound, and the head-up display that offers AMG-specific display styles such as Race and Supersport.
