Merdeka 118 can now be accessed through Belfield Tunnel
VISITORS to the world’s second-tallest tower an now access the precinct through the newly opened route.
An infrastructure project by PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Berhad (PMVSB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), the Belfield Tunnel provides an alternative entry and exit point to Merdeka 118.

Spanning over a kilometer the Belfield Tunnel is Malaysia’s second two-storey tunnel designed exclusively for vehicles traveling to and from Merdeka 118 with the aim to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the city centre - particularly reducing traffic buildup around the Merdeka 118 precinct at Jalan Hang Jebat, Jalan Hang Tuah, and Jalan Maharajalela.
The Belfield Tunnel can be accessed via two entry points, namely, Jalan Syed Putra and Jalan Damansara, leading vehicles directly into the basement car park 4 of Menara Merdeka 118.
Vehicles can then exit from basement car park 5 through two designated exits namely, Jalan Syed Putra and Jalan Istana.

PMVSB chief executive officer Datuk Tengku Ab. Aziz Tengku Mahmud said their goal was to provide a seamless and stress-free journey into the city by ensuring easier access for everyone.
“We are pleased to open the Belfield Tunnel, a vital link that will make visiting Merdeka 118 and its surrounding landmarks, including Stadium Merdeka, more convenient than ever. With ample parking for up to 8,000cars, we look forward to welcoming people from all walks of life, from business professionals to shoppers and tourists to experience all that Merdeka 118 has to offer once we are fully open,” he added.
The tunnel will also serve visitors to Malaysia’s only Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and 118 Mall, set to open in Q2 2025 and Q2 2026 respectively.
