AN exclusive edition of Proton's best-selling sports utility vehicle (SUV) is now open for booking.

First making its debut during last year's Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow (KLIMS 2024), the X50 Sport Edition (SE) ramps up on the sportiness and sophistication of the nation's current No.1 B-Segment SUV with an added value worth of RM10,000.

Using the X50 Premium variant as the foundation, the SE features 13 exclusive enhancements, headlined by a sporty Aerokit featuring front, rear, and side skirting. Most striking is the Quartz Black body colour that is accentuated by sleek glossy black garnishes at the front and rear.

Completing the look are black 18-inch alloy wheels and distinctive body decals.

Key additions to the interior include a wireless charger, sport edition carpet mats, stainless steel scuff plates, and a boot tray.

It adopts the updates introduced in the 2024 X50, such as an updated 10.3-inch infotainment head unit powered by a dual quad-core processor, the “Hi Proton” voice command system, and the Proton Link app for remote engine start and cabin cooling.

There's also a High-Definition 360-degree Camera with 3D surround view and a 6-speaker audio system enhances audio quality.

Completing the package is a security tint for added privacy and UV protection, 6-way power-adjustable for the driver's seat and automatic air conditioning.

The heart of the five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rated model remains the same as before with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with Multi Point Fuel Injection paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT).

Performance delivery is rated at 150 PS and 226 Nm of torque.

“The Proton X50 SE is about offering more excitement for Proton customers by leveraging on the popularity of the Proton X50, a crowd favourite since its launch. With the SE, we want to amplify that spirit by delivering a version that offers a more dynamic and sportier image, that customers have been longing for,” said Proton deputy chief executive officer Roslan Abdullah.

Proton is also running its Test Drive and Win Festive Fortune campaign alongside the unveiling of the X50 SE - whose grand prize is the aforementioned model.

The campaign runs from January to March 2025 with customers invited to visit any Proton dealership and test drive any model.

They will then be in the running to win monthly cash prizes of up to RM5,000. Those who make a booking and register a new Proton vehicle that month will automatically enter a monthly lucky draw and stand a chance to win a monthly grand prize of a travel package worth RM10,000 as well as a final grand prize for this 3 month campaign.

Price of the X50 SE comes in at RM105,300 with production limited to 1,000 units only.

The company is also introducing a limited-time cash rebate and angpao, offering a rebate of RM7,000 in January, and total savings for customers of RM13,500.

Bookings for the Proton X50 SE can now be made online at Proton's official website or at authorized Proton showrooms nationwide.
