SAIC Motor Malaysia's MG5 is officially in the market with a rather competitive price package.

The B-Segment sedan is priced just below the RM100,000 mark as promised - at RM93,900.

It goes even lower as the company is offering a RM7,000 introductory offer as part of MG's 100th Anniversary Campaign.

That puts the MG5 at RM86,900 should you take up the early bird offer.

Regardless, the prices includes a 5 years with unlimited mileage warranty on the vehicle, and 7 years with unlimited mileage warranty on the powertrain (engine and transmission).

The single variant MG5 sedan powered by a 1.5L petrol engine that is paired to an 8-speed iCVT automatic transmission .

The powertrain is said to have undergone 2.35 million km of durability testing to deliver 114PS and 150Nm of torque.

It is equipped with automatic LED headlights with DRL, LED taillights, and 17-inch Tomahawk allow wheels. It is 4,675mm in length, 1,842mm in width and 2,680mm wheelbase making it the longest and widest B-segment sedan to date.

Suspension at the front is an independent MacPherson Strut with stabilizer bar while the rear is a torsion beam. 

Cabin is equipped with a fully digital 7-inch LCD virtual cockpit, a 10.25-inch floating infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a three-spoke leather steering wheel with integrated controls, and leather interior upholstery in black with red accent.

Other highlights include a 360-degree view camera, 6 speakers and 3 USB ports, single zone digital air-conditioning with PM 2.5 air filter and rear vents. 
 

MG Pilot driver assist safety system is present and comes with features such as Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Assist, Blind Spot detection, Rear Warning Collision Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Standard is Electronic Stability Program, Anti-Lock Brake system (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Traction and Cornering Brake controls.

This is in addition to 6 SRS airbags.

The model is available in Nuclear Yellow, Dynamic Red, Arctic White, Black Pearl and Camden Grey.
