SIME Darby Motors aims to expand the BYD Seal's reach with a more economical option.

Distinguishing itself with newly designed 18-inch rims, the BYD Seal Dynamic rear-wheel drive (RWD) is the affordable option amongst the Seal variants.

It is powered by a 61.44 kWh LFP Blade battery pack that delivers 201 HP and 310 Nm of torque, allowing the electric vehicle (EV) to achieve a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.5 seconds. It also has a range of 510 km based on the NEDC cycle.

By comparison the Premium and Performance variant delivers 650 km and 580 km in range, respectively with a 82.56 kWh battery capacity. 

While it loses out on performance the Dynamic is the lightest variant of the three - 1,922 kg compared to the Premium and Performance at 2,055 kg and 2,185 kg, respectively.

This latest variant supports DC charging inputs up to 110 kW and also features vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality. The cabin's infotainment system is a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen integrated with the BYD App and voice command functionality.

With a five-star ANCAP safety rating the model prioritises occupant protection through its Ultra Safe Blade Battery technology with Cell-To-Body (CTB) construction, nine airbags, a comprehensive ADAS suite, and a high-resolution 360-degree camera system.

Boot space is rated at 400L and an additional 50L in the front trunk.

On the exterior the model is available in Cosmos Black and Aurora White - two colour options while losing the Atlantis Grey and Performance-exclusive Arctic Blue.

Pricing of the Dynamic starts at RM163,800 - the RWD Premium is priced from RM179,800 while the AWD Performance variant is priced from RM199,800.

The model comes with an extensive warranty package that comprises of a 6-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, an8-year or 160,000km high-voltage battery warranty, and an 8-year or 150,000km drive unit warranty.

The first 100 bookings of the BYD Seal Dynamic will include a complimentary Wall Box Home charger as an introductory offer.
