And then there's the 'Smart Lane', you might have seen it on our Plus Highways. The Smart Lane is where the highway managers (such as Plus Highway) utilize the emergency lane to increase highway lane capacity and ease traffic jams.

When will i know i can use the Smart Lane?

Usually, whenever there's a festive season approaching, or there are construction on the highway, highway company, JPJ or the authorities will execute the Smart Lane.

 

How to identify the Smart Lane?

Highway users should see a notice release on their social media account, or they will display a signboard on road sides to announce the availability of the Smart Lane and its location.

How to use the Smart Lane?

The Smart Lane occupies the "emergency lane," typically the leftmost lane. When highway users are approaching the designated Smart Lane, there will be a signboard indicating that the upcoming route is Smart Lane ready, allowing road users to utilize it. Additionally, before hitting the road, you can always check the availability on the authority's social media platforms.
