The much more muscular and powerful Toyota Hilux Revo GR Sport has been launched in our neighboring country, Thailand, with a selling price of 1,499,000 THB (approximately equivalent to RM195,000). This Hilux will definitely give the Ranger Raptor a run for its money!

Unlike our local Hilux GR-S, the Thai-spec Hilux Revo GR-S features a wider body styling and a rear wind screen spoiler. It is equipped with wider wheel arches and larger 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich AT tyres at all four corners.

As a result of these enhancements, the overall dimensions of the Hilux Revo have increased to 217mm in height, 140mm in front width, and 155mm in rear width.

In terms of internals, the Hilux Revo GR-S has also been upgraded to a set of KYB monotube dampers, and the rear brakes have been changed from drum brakes to disc brakes, enhancing the overall ride performance.

Moving to the interior, the overall design and layout remain unchanged. However, the centre infotainment display has been upgraded to a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

Additionally, the rearview mirror has been replaced with an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a wireless charging pad, along with USB Type-C ports, has been added.

The powertrain also remains unchanged, featuring the 2.8L turbo diesel engine capable of producing 224Ps horsepower and 550Nm of torque. It is paired with a revised 6-speed automatic gearbox with a 4WD selector.

Toyota officials mentioned that the ECU has received a retuned treatment, and the fuel injector has been upgraded from 265MPa to 275MPa, enhancing the overall power delivery.
