Zeekr, one of China's high-end electric vehicle (EV) brands, is making its way into the Malaysian automotive market. Malaysia and Singapore will be the one of the first ASEAN countries to witness Zeekr's expansion as part of the brand's globalization strategy. 

 

Zeekr was established by the Geely Group after Geely acquired Volvo. The brand made its debut in 2021, focusing primarily on high-end premium electric vehicles (EVs). This expansion into Malaysia aligns with Zeekr's mission to deliver cutting-edge, luxurious EVs to a global audience.

Although the brand is under Geely group like Proton, Zeekr Malaysia are not related to Proton, in fact, Zeekr are being brought in by Sentinel Automotive, the distributor that owns Lotus cars Malaysia.

As Zeekr enters Malaysia, the first product to be introduced will be the Zeekr X, an crossover EV based on the SEA platform, similar to the smart #1. 

Following the Zeekr X, the brand will also debut the Zeekr 009, a futuristic and premium electric MPV (EMPV). This product lineup highlights Zeekr's commitment to offering innovative and high-quality electric vehicles to Malaysian consumers.

Last but not least, Zeekr will be opening their first showroom in Kuala Lumpur, followed by additional showrooms in Selangor and Penang. For further information about Zeekr, please stay tuned as we will keep you updated.
